The event was organized by Explora-Conicyt outside the Museum of Natural History in Santiago, during October, 8-11th 2014, with the participation of more than 60 educational institutions that dedicate their research efforts to Science and Technology. This event was visited for more than 23 thousand people including children, youth and the general public.

Under this scenario, our núcleo milenio MUSELS, in collaboration with the Centre for Research and Innovation for Climate Change, Universidad Santo Tomas (UST-CIICC) and Universidad Adolfo Ibañez (UAI) presented the stand “Ocean Acidification: the other CO2 problem”, which included the active participation of Samantha Benitez, a research assistant of MUSELS. Visitors were able to observe the effects of acidification on calcareous structures of some marine species, such as mussels and oysters, along with “in situ” measurements of pH of some common substances.
